The premise
When he hears talk radio host Fran Ambrose discussing the topic of matricide, Norman calls in under a false name to tell his story.
Horror Vault's take
Norman Bates phones in to a late-night radio show discussing matricide, slowly unraveling the dark childhood secrets that forged the killer the world has come to fear. Through extended flashbacks, the film peels back the layers of Norman's twisted upbringing, putting a young face to the psychological wounds that haunt him. It's a character study as much as a horror film, trading jump scares for creeping dread rooted in deeply personal trauma. Whether it offers catharsis or simply opens old wounds is a question viewers will sit with long after the credits roll.
