Pulse1988
“The ultimate shocker.”
Directed by Paul Golding
The premise
An intelligent pulse of electricity moves from house to house, terrorizing occupants through their own appliances. Having already destroyed one household in a quiet neighborhood, the pulse finds itself in the home of a boy and his divorced father.
Horror Vault's take
In a seemingly ordinary suburban neighborhood, something sinister hides inside the electrical grid — a malevolent pulse of energy that weaponizes everyday household appliances against the people who rely on them. When a boy visits his divorced father, he begins to suspect that their home may already be in the pulse's sights. The film mines genuine dread from the mundane, turning water heaters, wiring, and power tools into instruments of terror. It's a quietly effective technophobia thriller that asks what happens when the infrastructure of modern comfort turns against you.
