The premise
When the dead discover a means to contact the living through electronic devices, cellphones and computers become open gateways to monstrosities and destruction.
Horror Vault's take
When strange and lethal phenomena begin spreading through networked devices, a group of college students finds that their phones and computers may be channeling something far worse than a virus. As those around them succumb to a creeping, inexplicable despair, the survivors must race to understand a threat that seems to grow stronger with every connection. This American remake of the acclaimed Japanese horror film Kairo taps into deep anxieties about technology and loneliness, wrapping its supernatural terror in a distinctly modern shell. The result is a slow-burn descent into hopelessness that lingers well after the credits roll.
