The premise
A spaceship is sent to Mars after an alien distress signal is picked up. They find one survivor, but when a crew member is found drained of blood it's evident they have rescued a bloodsucking monster. Uses footage from Encounter in Space (1963).

When a distress signal from deep space draws a crew of astronauts toward Mars, they return with far more than they bargained for. Their lone rescued survivor is hauntingly beautiful and silent — and something aboard the ship has developed a very deadly appetite. This 1966 cult oddity blends Cold War-era space-race aesthetics with classic vampire mythology, featuring a remarkable supporting cast including Basil Rathbone and a young Dennis Hopper. Moody, strange, and surprisingly restrained, it delivers genuine unease on a shoestring budget.
