The premise
A video store clerk stumbles onto an alien plot to take over earth by brainwashing people with a bad '50s science fiction movie. He and his friends race to stop the aliens before the tapes can be distributed world-wide.

When a video store clerk notices something deeply wrong with a newly released '50s-style sci-fi B-movie, he uncovers a chilling extraterrestrial scheme using VHS tapes as the ultimate tool of mass manipulation. With rental copies already flying off the shelves, he and his friends have precious little time to pull the plug before an unsuspecting public is permanently switched off. Equal parts paranoid thriller and knowing genre send-up, Remote Control wraps its alien-invasion anxieties in a neon-drenched late-'80s video-store aesthetic.
