The premise
The story of a young couple living alone in the woods, who must contend with a life-altering illness that manifests itself in a violent and terrifying way. Rose’s disease is a vampiric, parasitic thirst for blood. As her hunger grows, all humanity seems to give way to a feral violence that harms both her and those around her. Their loving relationship strains under the burden of Rose’s illness, and it is only a matter of time until the secluded life that they have built is upended entirely.
Horror Vault's take
Deep in a remote woodland, a couple's quiet, secluded life is held together by fragile routines and fierce devotion — but Rose harbours a consuming, bloodthirsty affliction that grows harder to contain with every passing day. What unfolds is less a traditional monster tale and more a harrowing portrait of a relationship tested to its absolute limits. The film uses its vampiric premise as a lens through which to examine how love endures — or fractures — when one partner's needs become dangerous. Restrained and atmospheric, it prioritises emotional dread over spectacle.
