The premise
In the 1400s, Rumpelstiltskin is imprisoned inside a small jade figurine. In modern-day Los Angeles, the recently widowed wife of a police officer, with baby in tow, finds her way into a witch's shop and purchases a certain figurine, resulting in the cackling beast being freed and demanding possession of the baby.

A centuries-old malevolent creature, long sealed away in an enchanted figurine, is accidentally set loose on the streets of modern Los Angeles when a grieving young mother makes an unwitting purchase at a curiosity shop. Now a cackling, relentless monster is on the hunt — and he has his sights set on something she holds most dear. Part creature feature, part road-chase horror, this 1995 cult oddity transplants a Brothers Grimm nightmare into campy, blood-soaked contemporary territory. Fans of low-budget '90s horror with a darkly comic streak will find plenty to enjoy.
