The premise
After someone is killed in the subterranean project called "Shadowzone," a NASA captain is called in to investigate. In the project, sleeping subjects are induced into a deep EDS state whereby they become portals to a parallel universe. Unfortunately this causes adverse reactions in the subject, and something gets through the portal, the consequence of which is an attrition problem.
Horror Vault's take
Deep beneath the surface, a classified NASA experiment pushes sleeping subjects into an extreme altered state — one that cracks open a door to somewhere else entirely. When a mysterious death brings an outside investigator into the fold, the tightly knit underground crew must reckon with what their research has unleashed. Shadowzone is a slow-burn sci-fi horror that traps its characters in a confined space with something that should never have crossed over. Think claustrophobic dread with a cosmic edge.
