The premise
A scientist, Dr Hollander, takes his niece Miranda to Mexico in an attempt to reverse the effects of the alien DNA he used to create her. However the treatment goes horribly wrong, and sets Miranda on a killing spree as she sets out to find a mate.

When a young woman begins exhibiting terrifying changes she cannot explain, her guardian — a scientist with a dark secret — rushes her across the border to Mexico seeking a cure. What he knows about her true origins is far more unsettling than she ever imagined, and the experimental treatment he pursues only accelerates the danger. As her alien nature asserts itself with lethal force, both hunter and hunted blur in the heat of a desperate race against time. This fourth entry in the Species franchise trades polished studio gloss for a grittier, south-of-the-border atmosphere.
