Taeter City2012
“Take a Tour in the City of Cannibal Dictatorship”
Directed by Giulio De Santi
The premise
In Taeter City, there is no crime. Using Zeed radio waves, the city’s dictatorship cause criminals to commit suicide. Their corpses are processed and sold as fast-food by conglomerates who nourish the ravenous populace. It was a perfect system…until Zeed started making the criminals stronger…
Horror Vault's take
In a gleaming authoritarian metropolis, crime has been eliminated through a sinister broadcast signal that compels the guilty to destroy themselves — their remains efficiently recycled into the city's food supply. It's a grotesque closed loop that keeps the population fed and compliant, a dystopia dressed up as utopia. When the system begins to malfunction in the most violent way imaginable, the city's enforcers find themselves facing something far worse than ordinary criminals. Taeter City is a blood-soaked fever dream that pushes Italian extreme genre filmmaking to its most uncompromising edge.
