The premise
Mateho, an officer of the Inquisition and rational man of science, visits a remote monastery to investigate a bizarre murder of a monk. And you guessed it: something evil is afoot. But is the terror man-made or the result of witchcraft?

When a monk turns up dead under deeply unsettling circumstances, a sharp-minded Inquisitor is dispatched to a fog-shrouded medieval monastery to uncover the truth. What he finds forces a collision between his cold rationalism and something that defies every logical explanation he can muster. The cloistered setting conceals secrets that the brothers are reluctant to share, and the horror — whether earthly or otherworldly — shows no signs of mercy. The Appearance poses an uncomfortable question: what is more dangerous, a man convinced of his reason, or evil that refuses to be reasoned with?
