The premise
In the early 1970s, Dr. Henry West creates an institute to find people with supernatural abilities. When Judith Winstead comes to the facility, she exhibits amazing abilities that the military wants to turn into a weapon.

Presented as declassified archival footage and talking-head interviews, The Atticus Institute reconstructs the chilling story of a 1970s parapsychology lab that may have encountered something beyond human understanding. When a remarkable test subject arrives at Dr. Henry West's facility, her abilities attract the dangerous attention of military and government agencies with far less scientific intentions. What begins as legitimate research spirals into something deeply sinister as institutional ambition overrides ethical caution. The mockumentary format lends the film an unsettling air of authenticity that keeps the horror grounded and creeping.
