The premise

In post–War England, a writer and sometime-ghost hunter investigates a reported haunting at a boys boarding school.

Horror Vault's take

Set in the shadow of World War I, a fiercely rational ghost-hunter and author travels to a remote boys' boarding school in the English countryside to debunk a reported haunting. What she finds there begins to erode her carefully constructed certainties, drawing her into a mystery far more personal than she anticipated. The film layers period atmosphere with genuine psychological unease, keeping the audience guessing whether the supernatural is real or a product of collective trauma. Rebecca Hall anchors the story with a nuanced, compelling performance.
