The premise
When the last evacuation flight out of war-torn Africa crashes off the coast, American Air Force Engineer Lieutenant Brian Murphy emerges as the sole survivor in a land where the dead are returning to life and attacking the living.

Stranded on the West African coast after a catastrophic evacuation gone wrong, an American Air Force engineer must navigate an unforgiving landscape teeming with the undead. Vast, sun-scorched vistas replace the usual urban decay of zombie cinema, giving this entry in the genre an eerily beautiful and distinctly unfamiliar dread. Paired with a local soldier searching for his own family, the two men forge an unlikely alliance as the world crumbles around them. The Dead strips survival horror down to its most elemental, punishing core.
