The premise
A writer secludes himself in the mountains and falls in lust with local Berta. After realizing the oddities of the rural community the author starts to question the lines between reality and fiction.

A novelist retreats to a remote mountain village seeking solitude and inspiration, only to become entangled with a local woman and the deeply strange community surrounding her. As his fixation grows, the line between what he is writing and what is actually happening begins to blur in deeply unsettling ways. The village harbors secrets that seem to seep into his mind, leaving both the protagonist — and the audience — uncertain of what to trust.
