The Nameless Days2022
“Some aren't named, for fear it would make them real.”
Directed by Andrew Mecham, Matthew Whedon
The premise
Young immigrant Rahui and his pregnant sister are attacked and separated by a demonic spirit as they embark on a dangerous trek across the U.S. border. Injured but determined to survive, Rahui must rescue his sister before the demon takes the one thing she was denied in life–a baby.
Horror Vault's take
When a young immigrant and his pregnant sister attempt a perilous crossing into the United States, they encounter something far more terrifying than the dangers of the desert — a malevolent entity with a chilling fixation on the unborn child. Injured and separated, Rahui must push through both the brutal landscape and a growing supernatural threat to reach his sister in time. The film weaves the very real horrors of border crossing with ancient folk terror, grounding its scares in human desperation. It is a lean, emotionally charged horror that refuses to let its audience look away.
