The premise

A German intelligence officer investigates a prostitute's killing in Warsaw during World War II. He lands on three major Nazi generals as suspects, two of whom are also involved in a plot to kill Adolf Hitler.

Horror Vault's take

Amid the chaos and brutality of World War II, a tenacious German intelligence officer finds himself hunting a monster hiding behind a wall of medals and rank — one of three high-powered Nazi generals is a calculating killer, and the uniform makes him nearly untouchable. The investigation stretches across occupied Europe and decades, weaving espionage, conspiracy, and cold-case obsession into a chilling portrait of evil in plain sight. With an extraordinary ensemble cast led by Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif, this is a slow-burn thriller that asks what separates a war criminal from a murderer — and whether the answer even matters.
