The premise

An aspiring opera singer finds herself transported back to Victorian-era London -- and into the arms of a reclusive, disfigured maestro determined to make her a star.

Horror Vault's take

Robert Englund brings a visceral, Elm Street-era savagery to one of horror's most iconic figures in this blood-soaked reimagining of the classic tale. A young soprano's dreams of operatic stardom draw her into the suffocating orbit of a brilliant, scarred composer lurking beneath Victorian London's grandest stage. This late-80s take leans hard into gore and Grand Guignol excess, trading the source material's gothic romance for something far more sinister and flesh-crawling.
