A brave prince must seek the fabled singing, ringing tree in order to win the heart of a beautiful princess.

A determined prince embarks on a perilous quest to claim a legendary magical artifact — the singing ringing tree — hoping it will win him the affections of a cold and vain princess. Standing between desire and destiny is a malevolent dwarf whose dark bargains carry consequences neither royal can fully anticipate. This East German fairy tale weaves genuine strangeness and creeping menace into its vibrant visuals, producing an atmosphere far more unsettling than its family label might suggest. Decades on, it retains an uncanny power that has haunted the childhoods of generations of viewers.
