When a man is wrongfully locked away in New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital, he quickly discovers that corrupt staff and volatile fellow patients are the least of his problems. Something far more terrifying lurks within the institution's walls, and no one on the outside is coming to help. Drawing from literary source material, this miniseries traps its protagonist in a place where the line between madness and genuine horror is deliberately, mercilessly blurred. Anchored by a strong lead performance from Dan Stevens, it looks to make the asylum itself feel like a living nightmare.
