The premise
A young man goes missing after visiting his girlfriend's isolated country home. His sister and her boyfriend trace him to the creepy mansion, but their search becomes perilous when they uncover a gruesome family history.

When a young man vanishes after visiting his girlfriend's remote country estate, his sister and her boyfriend set out to find him — only to find themselves ensnared in the mansion's dark past. This early 1970s Japanese Gothic chiller blends moody atmosphere with a creeping sense of dread as the couple digs deeper into a family history that was clearly meant to stay buried. Director Michio Yamamoto crafts a slow-burn tale steeped in Old World vampire mythology transplanted to a distinctly Japanese setting. Fans of elegant, atmospheric horror will find much to savour in this first entry of Toho's celebrated vampire trilogy.
