Deep in the Northern California wilderness, a rowdy night at a remote farmhouse turns nightmarish when one of the group suddenly becomes host to something monstrous and uncontrollable. Before the bikers can make sense of what's happening to their friend, a eerily out-of-time gang of rockabillies materializes from the darkness with an unsettling agenda of their own. Two very different flavors of menace — one internal, one external — trap the survivors in a mounting standoff that blends grime with the genuinely strange. The Violent Kind earns its title by delivering raw, uncomfortable tension from multiple directions at once.
