The premise

After an American family moves to an old country manor in rural England, one of the daughters is tormented by the spirit of the owner's long lost daughter, who mysteriously disappeared 30 years ago during a solar eclipse.

Horror Vault's take

When an American family settles into a brooding English country estate, the elder daughter begins experiencing deeply unsettling visions tied to the manor's enigmatic owner and a young woman who vanished without a trace decades ago. Something in the surrounding woodland is watching — and it has waited thirty years to be understood. Anchored by a commanding Bette Davis performance and a genuinely creepy rural atmosphere, this Disney-produced chiller walks a careful line between gothic mystery and supernatural dread. It remains a formative fright for anyone who encountered it at the right impressionable age.
