The premise

A group of young backpackers' vacation turns sour when a bus accident leaves them marooned in a remote Brazilian rural area that holds an ominous secret.

When a bus accident strands a group of young foreign backpackers in a remote corner of Brazil, what begins as an impromptu beach party quickly curdles into something far more sinister. The locals are not what they seem, and the jungle surrounding this seemingly idyllic stretch of coastline conceals a horrifying operation. Turistas taps into the primal fear of being utterly helpless in an unfamiliar land, far from any help or hope of rescue.
