The premise
When high class hooker Nicole is kidnapped from her brothel, Rich businessman Hugo Motherskille hires her ex love Roy Bain to find her. Investigating the disappearance, he eventually finds traces that lead to Dr. Savary, who has produced a strange white powder that's coveted by a race of deformed human beings who live in the underworld in the sewers below the city.
Horror Vault's take
A noir-tinged descent into the city's underbelly begins when a man-for-hire is tasked with tracking down a missing woman from the criminal world of high-end vice. His search pulls him away from the neon-lit surface and toward something far more unsettling lurking beneath the streets. A shadowy physician and a mysterious substance connect the dots between the criminal underworld above and a grotesque community hidden below. What starts as a rescue mission quickly spirals into a confrontation with something barely human.
