The premise

When a group of misfits is hired by an unknown third party to burglarize a desolate house and acquire one rare VHS tape, they discover more found footage than they had bargained for.

Horror Vault's take

A crew of small-time criminals breaks into an abandoned house on a mysterious errand — retrieve a single VHS tape. What they find instead is a trove of recordings that shouldn't exist, each one pulling them deeper into a nightmare they can't rewind. Structured as an anthology of found-footage shorts from a roster of indie horror directors, V/H/S delivers wildly varied flavors of dread wrapped in the lo-fi texture of analog decay. No two segments feel alike, but all of them linger.
