The premise

Laura Kendall, also known as Emanuelle, arrives at a remote prison with a long, fictional rap sheet that will allow her to go undercover to report on the cruelties behind bars.

Horror Vault's take

A journalist adopts a dangerous false identity to infiltrate a remote women's prison, where she quickly discovers that the horrors within its walls far exceed anything she could have anticipated. Directed as part of the Italian exploitation wave, this entry in the Emanuelle series trades glamour for grime, plunging its protagonist — and the audience — into a relentless gauntlet of brutality, degradation, and survival. The film pulls few punches in depicting the casual cruelty wielded by those in charge, making its undercover premise a vehicle for unflinching social provocation. Whether you read it as grindhouse spectacle or rough-edged critique, it leaves a lasting impression.
