The premise
In the future, a strange fungus has changed nearly everyone into thoughtless, flesh-eating monsters. When a scientist and a teacher find a girl who seems to be immune to the fungus, they all begin a journey to save humanity.

A fungal plague has reduced most of civilisation to ravenous, mindless husks, but a remarkable young girl raised in a heavily secured facility may hold the key to everything. When their world is violently upended, she finds herself on the road with a mismatched group of survivors — including a fiercely protective teacher and a driven scientist — each with very different ideas about her future. Set against a hauntingly desolate vision of post-collapse England, the film asks hard questions about progress, sacrifice, and who truly deserves to inherit the earth.
