In the grimy underbelly of late-1980s Tokyo, a nurse named Nami finds herself ground down by the predatory desires of those around her — patients, lovers, and strangers alike. A desperate flight from a painful betrayal puts her directly in harm's way, and what follows is a suffocating descent into captivity and psychological torment. Hisayasu Satô's entry in the long-running Angel Guts series strips away any exploitation-genre gloss, leaving behind something rawer and more unsettling. It is less interested in titillation than in the cold, crushing weight of powerlessness.
