The premise

A large spider from the jungles of South America is accidentally transported in a crate with a dead body to America where it mates with a local spider. Soon after, the residents of a small California town disappear as the result of spider bites from the deadly spider offspring. It's up to a couple of doctors with the help of an insect exterminator to annihilate these eight legged freaks.

Horror Vault's take

When a deadly South American spider makes its way to a quiet California town, residents begin dying under mysterious circumstances. A newly arrived doctor and a gloriously eccentric exterminator find themselves on the front lines of a rapidly spreading arachnid crisis. Part creature feature, part crowd-pleaser, the film masterfully balances genuine skin-crawling tension with sharp comedic beats — making it terrifying even for viewers who aren't especially squeamish about spiders.
