“Six hundred feet beneath the surface terror runs deep”
Directed by David Twohy

The premise
In the dark silence of the sea during World War II, the submarine USS Tiger Shark prowls on what should be a routine rescue mission. But for the shell-shocked crew, trapped together in the sub's narrow corridors and constricted spaces, this is about to become a journey into the sensory delusions, mental deceptions and runaway fears that lurk just below the surface of the ocean.
Horror Vault's take
Deep beneath the Atlantic during World War II, the crew of the USS Tiger Shark picks up survivors from a torpedoed vessel — and almost immediately, something begins to feel terribly wrong. The confined steel hull becomes a pressure cooker of paranoia, strange occurrences, and fraying nerves as the men struggle to distinguish threat from delusion. Director David Twohy crafts a slow-burn haunted-house story where the ghost might be guilt itself, and the ocean's crushing darkness is as much psychological as it is physical. With a strong ensemble and an suffocating sense of place, this is a ghost story that earns its chills through atmosphere rather than spectacle.
