The premise
In 18th-century Romania, after spending much of her life in a traveling circus, human-vampire hybrid Rayne escapes and plots to take down her father, Kagan, the evil vampire king. When she's discovered by three vampire hunters, she manages to convince them to spare her life and join her cause. But slaying a vampire as powerful as Kagan will be no easy task.

Set against the blood-soaked landscape of 18th-century Romania, BloodRayne follows Rayne — a half-human, half-vampire outcast — as she channels her rage into a deadly mission against the most powerful vampire lord in the land. Escaping a life of captivity, she forges an uneasy alliance with a band of seasoned vampire hunters who have every reason not to trust her. The road to confronting her monstrous father is paved with brutal sword fights, supernatural threats, and shifting loyalties.
