The premise
Simultaneously, a retired couple overwhelmed by debt tries to win a dance contest, as the minister of economy is suspected of tax evasion, and a teenage girl encounters a sexual maniac, while a young lawyer attempts to climb the social ladder. When the shoe drops, the winner won’t necessarily be the one we expected.

A biting French dark comedy that weaves together several seemingly unrelated storylines — a debt-ridden couple chasing a dance competition prize, a scandal-touched politician, a predatory threat lurking near a teenage girl, and an ambitious lawyer on the make. Director Jean-Christophe Meurisse stitches these threads into a savage portrait of a society rotting from within, where the line between farce and brutality dissolves without warning. Tonal whiplash is very much the point: just when the film feels like sharp political satire, it pivots into genuinely shocking horror territory. Expect the unexpected, and don't get too attached to anyone.
