Horror Vault's take
When a paranormal researcher investigates a brutal murder, she discovers a decaying house that sits at a terrifying crossroads between the living world and whatever lies beyond it. Souls in transit leave their mark on this cursed location in ways that are impossible to ignore or explain. Based on Clive Barker's celebrated wraparound tale from his Books of Blood anthology, the film immerses viewers in a mythology where the boundary between life and death is horrifyingly physical. Expect the lush, visceral imagination that defines Barker's literary universe translated to the screen.
