The premise
Five military veterans, best friends since childhood, gather together in a Brooklyn brownstone several months after the end of World War II, and the metaphoric ghosts of their past become all-too-literal.
Horror Vault's take
Set in the grey winter of 1945, five childhood friends — all veterans scarred by World War II — reunite in a Brooklyn brownstone hoping to find comfort in familiar company. What begins as a somber gathering quickly unravels when the wounds of war refuse to stay buried, and something far more tangible than memory makes itself known. Confined almost entirely to a single room, the film wrings suffocating tension from its small ensemble as old loyalties and dark secrets collide. Brooklyn 45 is a chamber horror that weaponises history and guilt as effectively as any monster.
