The premise
An earthquake releases a strain of mutant cockroaches with the ability to start fires, which proceed to cause destructive chaos in a small town. The studies carried out by scientist James Parmiter, however, reveal an intent with much more far-reaching consequences.
Horror Vault's take
When a violent earthquake cracks open the earth beneath a quiet town, something far worse than tremors emerges — a colony of mutant cockroaches capable of igniting fires on contact. Chaos and destruction ripple through the community as the creatures prove disturbingly resilient. A determined biologist throws himself into studying the phenomenon, but his research begins to consume him in ways he never anticipated. What starts as a disaster-movie premise gradually darkens into something far more disturbing and personal.
