In 1940s Manhattan, a mysterious Serbian woman carries a dark belief inherited from Old World folklore: that surrendering to physical passion will unleash something monstrous within her. Her marriage to an earnest American becomes a slow-burn study in longing, jealousy, and creeping dread as the boundaries between woman and predator grow disturbingly thin.
