The premise
Hungary, XVII century. After being widowed, the old countess Elizabeth Nádasdy, of the Báthory lineage, fortunately discovers a way to become young again; but the price to be paid by those around her will be high and bloody.

Set in the opulent courts of 17th-century Hungary, this Hammer-era period horror follows an aging noblewoman of the infamous Báthory bloodline who stumbles upon a gruesome secret that seemingly restores her lost youth. Ingrid Pitt commands the screen as a woman consumed by vanity and desperate desire, weaving a web of deception that ensnares everyone around her. Inspired by the real-life legend of Erzsébet Báthory, the film drapes its darkness in rich costume and palace intrigue, letting horror simmer beneath a veneer of aristocratic splendour.
