The premise
After finding an ad online for “video work,” Sara, a video artist whose primary focus is creating intimacy with lonely men, thinks she may have found the subject of her dreams. She drives to a remote house in the forest and meets a man claiming to be a serial killer. Unable to resist the chance to create a truly shocking piece of art, she agrees to spend the day with him. However, as the day goes on, she discovers she may have dug herself into a hole from which she can’t escape.

A video artist who seeks out lonely, troubled men for her documentary project thinks she's struck gold when a stranger openly claims to be a serial killer — and invites her to spend the day at his remote woodland home. What begins as a bold artistic gamble slowly reveals itself to be something far more dangerous than either party may have bargained for. Duplass returns in a disarmingly personable performance that makes the film's creeping dread all the more effective. The sequel smartly flips the dynamic of the original, raising the psychological stakes by pitting two equally unpredictable personalities against each other.
