When a woman and her young son vanish from the small, bleak town of Devil's Gate, North Dakota, an FBI agent teams up with the local sheriff's department to dig into the unsettling case. Their investigation leads them to the missing woman's husband — and to discoveries on his remote farmstead that defy rational explanation. What begins as a missing persons thriller steadily darkens into something far stranger and more dangerous than anyone anticipated. The town's name may turn out to be more than coincidence.
