The premise

Steve Clark is a newcomer in the town of Cradle Bay, and he quickly realizes that there's something odd about his high school classmates. The clique known as the "Blue Ribbons" are the eerie embodiment of academic excellence and clean living. But, like the rest of the town, they're a little too perfect. When Steve's rebellious friend Gavin mysteriously joins their ranks, Steve searches for the truth with fellow misfit Rachel.

Horror Vault's take

When Steve Clark transfers to the isolated town of Cradle Bay, he notices that the school's elite clique — the disturbingly wholesome Blue Ribbons — seem less like overachievers and more like something engineered. As friends begin crossing over to their ranks under suspicious circumstances, Steve and fellow outsider Rachel start pulling at threads that the town's adults seem very keen to keep intact. Part small-town conspiracy thriller, part sci-fi horror, the film taps into the creeping dread of watching the people you know become unrecognizable. Think Stepford Wives relocated to a Pacific Northwest high school.
