The premise

Judith Fontaine is looking for her sister Joanie, who has disappeared into the hippie community of Venice, California. It turns out that Joanie has become fallen victim to Groton, an ax-wielding homicidal maniac under the employ of Dr. Durea, the last living descendant of the Frankenstein family and is now both running a house of horrors on the beach's boardwalk and performing experiments on Gorton's victims in his basement laboratory.

When a young woman vanishes into the seedy hippie scene of Venice Beach, her desperate sister's search for answers leads her into a nightmare of carnival freakshows, basement laboratories, and legendary monsters. A descendant of the Frankenstein family is conducting grisly experiments behind the facade of a beachside house of horrors, and something far darker than a missing person lurks beneath the boardwalk. This late-era creature-feature throws Dracula and Frankenstein's monster together in a gloriously unhinged collision of gothic horror and early-70s exploitation. Fans of vintage schlock will find it hard to look away.
