The premise
Nala, a thirteen-year-old girl from the city, travels with her family to her grandmother's home in the countryside, to try to find a cure for her little sister's mysterious illness - But she'll soon find her granny is not exactly what she seems...

When thirteen-year-old Nala travels with her family to her grandmother's remote countryside home in search of a cure for her little sister's baffling illness, what begins as a desperate act of love quickly takes on a far more sinister shape. The rural setting hides traditions and truths that the city girl is wholly unprepared for, and the grandmother at the heart of it all is not the comforting figure Nala expected. As the mystery of her sister's condition deepens, Nala must confront a darkness woven into her own bloodline.
