The premise
In 1750, an adulterous preacher is ejected from a small British colony with his motley crew of followers, who make their way downriver to establish a new settlement of their own beyond the western frontier.

Set in 1750, a disgraced preacher leads a ragged band of outcasts deep into uncharted American wilderness after being driven from their colony. What awaits them beyond the frontier is far older and more dangerous than anything they left behind. The untamed forest harbors forces rooted in Native American legend and dark witchcraft that begin to close in around the settlers. This strange, visually inventive film blurs the line between folklore, guilt, and genuine evil.
