The premise
The story of two outcast sisters, Ginger and Brigitte, in the mindless suburban town of Bailey Downs. On the night of Ginger's first period, she is savagely attacked by a wild creature. Ginger's wounds miraculously heal but something is not quite right. Now Brigitte must save her sister and save herself.

In the bleak suburban sprawl of Bailey Downs, Ontario, death-obsessed sisters Ginger and Brigitte have always been outsiders — and they prefer it that way. When a savage attack on the night of Ginger's first period sets off a disturbing chain of changes in her body and behaviour, younger sister Brigitte scrambles to understand what her sister is becoming. Ginger Snaps uses werewolf mythology as a razor-sharp metaphor for puberty, female rage, and the terror of watching someone you love slip away. It's a cult classic that bites harder than most horror films dare to.
