Horror Vault's take
Set in the bleak twilight of World War I, a young doctor returns from the front driven by a haunting need to find the children he once cared for — only to discover a fog-shrouded village where the boundary between the living and the dead feels dangerously thin. The marshlands surrounding the settlement seem to swallow secrets whole, and the locals carry a dread that words alone cannot explain. A strange, ethereal woman named Catherine draws him deeper into the village's dark heart, blurring the line between desperate hope and fatal obsession. Giorgino is a slow-burn, visually sumptuous descent into grief and the unknown.
