The premise

A married couple loses their children while on a family trip near some caves in Tijuana. The kids eventually reappear without explanation, but it becomes clear that they are not who they used to be, that something terrifying has changed them.

Horror Vault's take

When a Mexican family's vacation turns nightmarish, two children vanish into a hillside cave near Tijuana — only to resurface changed in ways their parents can barely articulate, let alone understand. Director Adrián García Bogliano wraps a primal parental nightmare in sun-bleached Mexican landscapes that feel ancient and quietly malevolent. The film builds its dread methodically, letting unease seep in through the behavior of the returned children rather than through cheap shocks. What begins as a mystery about a disappearance steadily darkens into something far more disturbing about what — or who — came back.
