The premise
After making a harrowing escape from war-torn South Sudan, a young refugee couple struggle to adjust to their new life in a small English town that has an unspeakable evil lurking beneath the surface.

A South Sudanese couple, granted provisional asylum in England, are placed in a crumbling council house and desperate to prove they deserve to stay — but something ancient and malevolent has followed them across the ocean. As the walls of their new home reveal increasingly disturbing secrets, the boundary between the horrors they fled and the evil now surrounding them begins to dissolve. His House weaves South Sudanese folklore into a deeply human story about what we carry with us when we run, and what price survival truly demands.
