“The most dreaded Nazi of them all!”

The premise
Ilsa, a warden at a Nazi death camp that conducts experiments on prisoners, strives to prove that women can withstand more pain and suffering than men, and therefore should be allowed to fight on the frontlines.
Horror Vault's take
Set within the barbed-wire walls of a Nazi death camp, Ilsa follows a ruthless female commandant who subjects prisoners to increasingly brutal experiments in the name of a twisted ideological crusade. The film is a cornerstone of the nazisploitation subgenre, leaning hard into shock value and depravity rather than conventional horror craft. It remains one of the most notoriously extreme exploitation films of the 1970s, courting controversy that has never fully faded. Viewer discretion is not just advised — it is essential.
