The premise
A young woman recuperating at her father's run-down home after a tragic accident soon encounters a terrifying presence with a connection to her long-deceased mother.

After a devastating accident leaves her dependent and vulnerable, Jessabelle returns to her estranged father's dilapidated Louisiana home to recover — a place she never truly knew. Hidden among her late mother's belongings, she discovers a series of old videotapes that seem to carry a message meant specifically for her, drawing her deeper into a world of voodoo and restless spirits. Something lurks in that house with a claim on Jessabelle that goes far beyond coincidence, and the more she uncovers about her mother's past, the more dangerous the truth becomes.
